Wessex Family Research can carry out specific research on your behalf - searching through archives at a range of Record Offices across southern England, including London. You may find this service useful if you enjoy planning your own research but perhaps ... don't have the time to visit Record Offices yourself. live too far away from the records you need to consult. have reached a dead end and think that a fresh approach from an experienced researcher would help.
Your request could be very specific ...		eg. 'List all entries for the Tinker family in the parish registers of Brockenhurst between 1750 and 1820.'
Or your request might be more open ended ...		eg. 'Investigate the ancestry of Mary Taylor, who was born circa 1796 at Tiverton.'
Our fees for local archive searches are detailed below. However, if this is not quite what you're looking for, you might want to consider our family history research packages or complete the simple enquiry form below. Placing your order from the UK or overseas could not be easier. There are online forms and an online payment system available on this website.

Discount Rate We will conduct research at a discount rate of Ł11 per hour subject to a minimum charge of Ł11 (ie. 1 hour) at the following 5 County Record Offices: Devon Dorset Hampshire Somerset Wiltshire We are also happy to conduct searches in the the following national records at the same rate: GRO indexes to births, marriages and deaths 1841-1901 census returns for England and Wales National Probate Calendars (1858 onwards) How To Order		Standard Rate Our standard rate for research is Ł14 per hour subject to a minimum charge of Ł28 (ie. 2 hours). We will carry out research at any of these Record Offices and Libraries in London: Family Records Centre Public Record Office, Kew London Metropolitan Archives Guildhall Library City of Westminster Archives Centre Society of Genealogists ... and at the following County Record Offices & local Archive Centres: Gloucestershire Oxfordshire Berkshire Surrey East Sussex West Sussex Isle of Wight North Devon Plymouth & West Devon Bristol Southampton Portsmouth How To Order
Please Note - You only pay the hourly rate for time spent conducting research. There are no hidden charges for travel time, report production or other expenses. However, if you require copies of any relevant documents, these will be charged at cost price. If you need to find out what records are held at any of these Record Offices, you can find links to their websites on our links page. You will find that many of these offices provide their own research service - typically costing between Ł20 and Ł25 per hour. So I hope you will agree that our rates are very competitive.
